That song about guys trapped in a mine, down, down, down in the ground. I like the pipes.

Yeah hard to get into them in such a huge venue when you don't know all the songs.
If they play a small gig near you, you should try them again.

I can only judge them on what i saw......and yes if they do play a smaller venue i will go and see them again...but it still felt a bit "Thrash Irish"

of course you can only judge on what you see, what i ment is just dont write them off just yet. "thrash irish"?

i won't write them off, my point about "thrash irish"was that to me on first hearing they sounded like a "thrash metal" band with an irish influence, everything seemed to be extremely loud and played at 100 miles per hour

Go and see them again, I used to really hate them but found them much better the second time around.

Dropkicks just announced Scandinavian tour.
I'm sure it's up on their website by now.

Hey Veggie, have you ever heard the acoustic version?? It's hard to get through, chokes you right up.Saw them do it live day after Paddys Day this year & it was superb. There are far too many to pinpoint one,but to see them do it live,Bastards On Parade.

And for Dawsonn, keep an eye out for a boot of a live show from Werchter 2004..Fairytale is on there...Wild Rover too...& Fields....& Spicy....& Dirty Glass...& Black Velvet Band....& of course,Bastards...got it on ebay myself about 2 years ago from a guy from Boston selling an acoustic radio performance(also very good) & the guy threw in 2 shows, pretty damn good quality.

I'm not sure if it's still available. It was a limited edition cd single, only to be had from their website. It's coupled with Last Letter Home from Warriors Code,& is dedicated to Andrew Farrar, like "Home" was on the lp.Farrars' family was at the show, the day after Paddys Day this year, and they did the ballad version.Very hard not to break down to it.
