Going on that stretching road
we’re taking off again
have a feeling I’ll be lucky
fate lending me a hand
Another night and another bar room
Flicking off that sweat
raising hell again together
howling at the moon

Chorus:
But I’m gonna take it
I’m gonna make it and
I’m giving it all that I got

See ya sometimes in the morning
you turn around my head
sweet dreams of love and glory
raking in that bread
Passions in me neon glowing
swinging to that tune
have a hunch that someone’s smiling
cut the baggage loose

Chorus

See the way that you dance at night time
makes me wanna laugh
down a dozen maybe forty, party in the gaff
I love the way that I feel it, baby
just like Amsterdam
no matter what that you said before me
some say I’m damned

Chorus

Dream I’ll make it in the USA
getting high on it all
there’s no use in regrets or crying
that’s a load of balls
I’m gonna play it like
I’ve always done in the walk of life
don’t wanna hear about the weather
or your bleeding strife

Chorus

"Giving It All That I Got" has not been played on any of the Czech tours.
For those unfamiliar with the song, you can listen to it on the Hogs' Myspace.

Hello OIroioish,
No, "Givin it all that I got" is not on the regular playlist, however I think this year for the Czech tour I might start doing it, I am glad you like it, its one of my own original songs & music.
I was thinking today of mixing in different songs for the 2008 Czrch tour, I know that the audiences want and always love to hear the old reliables like "whiskey in the jar" "Wild rover" etc, but we wont let them down, we can use the "reliables" and mix in a lot of other geat stuff!
Jesus but its cold in Ireland in comparison to Gran Canaria,

Just got a phone call from Ding Dong, he's well fucked again, he had few drinks with Scruffy in teh half barrel(Kiwi), meself & Kieran headin down in may to do few gigs, more on this later.

Well about the song "Givin it all that I got",
I might do it htis year on tours, we did not do it last year because we recorded a new album with Václav Koubek and it was normal and sensible to stick to that playlist and to not complicate it for Václav, he is a talented musician in his own right, but until he met us, he was not very familiar with Irish songs or music, maybe this year we can include it in gigs where Václav will not be with s, in any event, we are gong to include several new songs on our playlist, it might be impossible to not have to sing "Wild Rover" and "Whiskey in the jar" and lots of those ones, but we will be adding new songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh God yes!!!!!!
Now regarding you wanting to sing "Givin it all that I got", ok, I did it/sang it in the scale of E flat, so just put a capo on the first fret of your guitar and just play it in a D chord formation, theres just 3 chords in it so it's dead simple - G, D & A.

If you want to play along the recording (which helps with singing and getting rhytm all right), you can use alternate fingering:
G dur
E 3
B 3
G 4
D 5
A 5
E 3

This is a barre version of G, in my opinion it sounds better than commonly used version really. And if you get used to it, it´s really fast to do - I trained it on http://www.traditionalmusic.co.uk/irish ... %20Dew.htm

D dur
E 2
B 3
G 2
D 4
A 5
E 2
If you know how notes go, there´s C-C#-D. That means, that C dur is played the way you know it, if you take it, put barre on the first fret, and lay "C dur" on other frets, you get C#, and if you put the barre finger on the 2nd fret, you get D. Additionally, you can use finger pattern of that barre G (which is F dur moved two frets higher - again - F-F#-G).

A dur
E 5
B 5
G 6
D 7
A 7
E 5
Notes go G-G#-A - so yes, this is G dur pattern moved two frets higher.

These are usual G,D,A - and they´re not to torture people´s fingers, but you can easily move them on scales. You want to play with a capo on the first fret? You can take these chords I wrote and put the barre finger one fret higher, making G 445664, A 667887, D 343563 - you´re ready to play :-) Besides, you can do some nice slides with those barres, making those chords more corresponding to the melody being played on them.

OIroioish,

Just one important thing to remember about singing (any song).

In "my song "Givin it all that I got" I am singing it in the scale of E Flat but please remember THERE IS A REASON FOR THIS ! I am not just singing in E Flat just to be difficult or flamboyant.
The reason I sing "Givin it all that I got" in E Flat is because back when I first recorded it (I think it was in 2002) I was in another band and our accordeon player was using/playing an E Flat accordeon..........................Now you see why I sang it in E FlaT ???
The point I am making is that the scale of E Flat suited my voice and so would have the scale of D.
Because D or E flat suits my voice does not neccesarily mean it would suit you, you must experiment with your voice and find you range of suitable high's and also of lows, this takes time, in fact it can take years to get it right, and some people might need coaching/lessons !!!!!!
You might find it way easier to sing it in the scale of C or in G or maybe even in A, you just have to try out what scale will enable you to sing this song (or any song) in proper form and with comfort and with no "vanishing" in the lower end of the song and avoiding shouting (shrieking) at the high pitches.
When King Cunt sings "Dirt Old Town" he sings it in the scale of G, if I tried this it would be way too high for me so I sing it in either D or in E (depending on how hoarse my voice is) so you see?????............................Find your own scale.
In saying all of this, if E Flat suits you, then great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, just want to clarify something you mentioned in a previous posting, you mentioned that I was not managing The Hogs MySpace site, but I want to let you know that I am indeed the manager of it, it may have looked like I was'nt doing anything with it but this was entirely because while I was on tour in Gran Canaria, MySpace will come up ONLY IN SPANISH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately I am unable to read or speak in Spanish yet, and I was just not able to reply to anyone who may have contacted me, but I assure you and everyone else that it is definitely The Hogs site.
Anyway, we are in regular contact through medusa fora and also you have my e-mail and I have often recieved SMS (text) messages from you.
Other people who want to contact The Hogs or me personally can find contact details in our Hogsite http://www.thehogs.eu
