Interesting little blurb for you Bruce fans..went to see Against Me! in NJ tonight. The guy next to me had asked me the name of a couple of song titles during the night(he was there with his 14 yr old who was down in the pit).So near the end of the set,he taps me again & I figure he wants to know what song it is.He says,"Look whos standing right next to me"...yup,none other than the Boss himself.I guess he does still go out to Jersey clubs. My girl tried to accost him for an auto after the show, but he just smiled & left so he didn't get mobbed. Not snooty at all though. He was all smiles with the few people who knew he was there. 8) :D

Great story, orrok61. :)

I've never been close to meeting him myself (well, not knowingly, anyway), but the reports I've heard have always suggested he's a good guy.

As you've gathered from my posts,I was never a fan of the mans' music. However, seeing the way he handled himself in front of a crowd, gracious & smiling,I must admit to gaining a huge amount of respect for him as a person.Nevermind the fact that it was quite thrilling! He looked like your average 50ish bloke, tan suede jacket & a tan baseball cap,2 or 3 earrings & a healthy sprig of gray coming from the sides.I just look at the situation now & put a Mick or a Bono or a Prince,..you get what I mean,I don't think those guys would have acted the same..or even been side by side with us for the show for that matter.Very cool experience. :D :D

Not impossible, I guess, orrok61. Look forward to hearing about it if so. And no, I can't imagine Bono in the same situation.

Yesterday I worked as a steward at Bruce Springsteen concert in Milan's stadium San Siro. Great gig!

Managed to get hold of a bootleg of Springsteens Seeger Sessions show ay Wembley and listening to American Land you could close your eyes and imagine you were listening to the Pogues. In fact, a few moments later, my wife came in and asked "Is this the Pogues Box Set"?- wouldn't quite believe it was Springsteen, he even sounds a bit like Shane!

Ironic that while I think the whole Seeger Sessions project was/is Springsteens best so far, I believe it was not well recieved in the US heartlands.

Several rare photos of Bruce Springsteen are being given away as prizes in a raffle benefiting the Community FoodBank in the singer's home state, New Jersey.

Those who donate $25 or more to the hunger-fighting charity will have the chance to win one of the iconic shots, signed by the photographers who took them.
