Saw a great show at The Borderline, London, a couple of weeks ago (with the lovely Christine).

WEW put on a great show, it was about 100 degrees F inside, and Spider and Louise were also in attendance. Great evening!

Thanks for the ticket, Christine!

I saw Wed night in San Francisco. He mentioned that Spider and Louise were at both shows in London, but he did not mention Lil'C and Christine. Huh.

And get you're stalking shoes on. He's heading down your way this weekend.

Sorry, DzM. I did have your greeting in my mind, but it didn't work out.

Man, oh man... I am barely crawling out of bed halfway through the day. Yes folks, saw WEW last night. This was our first time seeing him as the headliner. If you ever get the opportunity, DO NOT miss out (and be sure to take the following day off work).

Small venue, me smack dab in front of Will, just like when I saw Spider at Matt Hensley's, although no jumping around this time. (and no, I am not a name dropping c*nt, I just saw the chance to use Will, Spider and Matt Hensley in the same sentence and took it 8) )

But back to the show... The foot starts... launching into "Diggin' My Grave", it seemed like the faithful crowd was more than willing to accompany Will on his paved "road to hell". And then... he played everything we shouted out and more. Dry, One Man's Shame, Johnny Law, Black Iowa Dirt, yep, all that and so much more. A heartbreaking "Porchlight" that silenced even the tatoo artist/asshole in the crowd that previously wouldn't shut-the-fuck-up.

WEW bantered with the audience and shared some pearls of wisdom he comes up with while driving his van. For instance, he is freely giving away one of his many ideas for a T shirt. "Cinco de Fucking Mayo". There ya go. If you print up the shirts be sure to send him one.

Oh, and don't be shy about introducing yourself to him. He is one cool cat.

hello kath...just wondering..why didn't somebody..or better still several somebodies, quietly 'suggest' to said tattoo artist/asshole..in a manner that would leave no room for doubt in his mind..that perhaps he should leave the building?

Because WEW actually knew the guy (called him Scott and said he was a tatoo artist from Iowa). So since WEW didn't tell said bastard to STFU, neither did we. Sheep we are, damnit!

You know how it goes.... sometimes even the coolest cat in the room has a friend who is a total dick.

Didn't he mention that he had had a residency in there for a while? Or am I making that up? It seemed odd, seeing that I should have noticed that.

Hi Christine! Back in the USA, but had a great trip. Thanks again!

I remember that too. Will mentioned that he loved London, and that he played the Borderline regularly. He must like it hot!
