Glad to hear it! I am sure wishing I could have been there.

Is the design of the poster/t-shirt the one with a bear that says " 'Does a bear sit in the woods' fall tour 2007"? There is a photo at Will's myspace page (scroll down to the comments). I attempted to post it here, but I'm not so adept at such things. http://www.myspace.com/whitmorewilliamelliott

Yes, that is it. And I couldn't believe it but I got poster number 1 of 87! Luke did a nice job on them. William sounded like he was having some issues with the record label over his new recordings. I know Luke had mentioned that he had been recording a few months back. Hopefully they won't stick their nose into it too much and leave the artist alone to create on his terms. But somehow I think that this situation isn't unique.

Playing San Diego this Saturday. Love the "He's from Iowa" on the Casbah's website.

Well......DzM?

A fantastic show was had. Tim Barry was opener, and Josh Small was opener opener. They all had very complimentary styles (much different than William opening for Red Sparrowes, etc). Three hours of good music. Well worth the trip.

And William was really, really shitfaced. Really. That kind of drunk where you can tell by looking at someone that the Fun has stopped and the "I Wish The Room Would Stop Spinning" has started. Still, he put on over an hour of great music despite his distress.

Photos will be forthcoming at some point.

I'm glad the show was worth your trip.

Perhaps Will's fans need to be less generous with the drinks.

There was a certain entertaining irony that as Will was announcing over the mic "No, please, I've been drinking all day. I think I need to lay off." while at the same time a fan (or, at least once, his cousin) were reaching to hand him more scotch/whiskey. And he'd take it.

At one point the Lovely Mrs. DzM ended up with one of his spares.

There's a great interview with William on this podcast: http://www.section86.com/?cat=4

He talks about touring with The Pogues in it too.

I was a little disappointed that WEW did not open the Monday Fillmore show as the homepage originally stated. I was happy to see him open for the POGUES in 2006 at the Orpheum in Boston. Most of the crowd were hanging in the lobby as drinks were not allowed in the theater. They all missed a great performance. We were sitting second row with no one in front of us at the time. Esther, please let me know if he will be playing any shows in our neck of the woods.

Okay. I know of nothing yet.

You may be interested to know that his untitled Latitude series release from Southern has now been issued on colored vinyl. Information here:

Preface: Guy's awesome. He was kickass at the Wiltern show I saw.

Question: He played two songs that were extremely riotous and kickass: Johnny Law and something with a lyric about a train jumping the rails and breaking the conductor's neck. Those songs for a new album being roadtested? Because I want to hear those again so badly.

It's not a new song. As far as I know it's not been "officially" released on anything. I do have a live version of the song from his performance at the Wakarusa Festival in 2006. I was able to purchase the cd of his set from the festivals website.

I am pleased to tell you adoring fans that Will's website is now up and running! You will soon be able to purchase stuff there.

And...there are at least two midwestern shows in the works: January 18th in Chicago (location TBA) and January 19th in Iowa City at the Picador.
