These boots were made for stalking, and that's just what they'll do...

So tomorrow afternoon I fly back to Austin. I hope to see WEW perform Tuesday night. Anyone joining me?

I wish. Trampled by Turtles is also excellent. Then you can catch Jon Dee Graham and James McMurtry on Wednesday at the Continental Club on South Congress, unless they are out touring.

Come on. You know you want to. I'll buy the first round of hipster beers.

Territa, get your butt up to Austin for the WEW/Turtles show. You won't be disappointed.

Well here I am at the Parish all alone. Except for WEW, who'll be back shortly. All alone forever. With Everyone.

I'm busy flying, and working, and replacing laptops that evidently don't care for beer. And I'm really bad at show reviews.

Review in 180 words or less:

WEW was fantastic, though as the opener he played fewer songs than he should have. His set list was changed up a bit, but the only song dropped that I felt really bummed about was "Dry."
Trampled by Turtles was fun, high energy bluegrass. My only peeve with them is that they fall into the same trap as a lot of "Celtic punk" bands do - "Playing double-time makes us edgy." Still, I'll be hunting down their CDs and giving them more of a thorough listen.
I met two gents there that are trying to form up a band - El Grass Brothers or some such. Nice guys.
Met two young women there. One was blonde and there for both WEW AND TbT. She was really fun. The not-blonde woman was really annoying and screechy and pushy. Ultimately the two dudes and I ended up drinking more beers than we should have because we were using the trip to the bar for another round to get away from screechy woman.

Photos of WEW and TbT to come.

Sounds like the story of many a life.

*Substitute "stupid man" for "screechy woman" where appropriate.

Look forward to the photos, DzM.

Oooo. Mighty tempting to find and excuse to be in LA, SF, and Seattle in September. I wonder if I can fold Denver in too ... Hmmm.
