not sure if this has been posted elsewhere.....did anyone here get to see/hear him opening for the pogues? WHAT A FUCKING VOICE!....i'm not even gonna try and explain how good this bloke is....those who hear will know. not gonna mention the tom waits comparasions.....just check him out and buy his music. NOW.

He did himself and us a great favour by appearing on this tour and he has clearly made numerous new fans. I'm delighted for him.

I agree. Outstanding. And he gives off a real simple and cool vibe.

I missed him in Boston but seen him in NYC last night.(3/18 ) I didn't know what to expect but liked him a lot. His voice reminded me of an old black blues singer. Kinda rough but also smooth. Excellent banjo skills. I would like to see him with a band though, does he ever play with one?

I just got hold of a copy of "hymns for the hopeless". what a wonderful record. great, sparse production, cracking songs and a superb soulful voice. thanks for the reccomendation!

The Pogues were all I hoped they would be - amazing. But the biggest surprise of the night for me was William Elliot Whitmore. I can't stop listening to him. There's nobody like him.

Will has, on occasion, played w/backup by Tornavalanche (former members of Ten Grand). Most often, Will appears solo and that seems to suit most folks just fine.

Will has recorded a duets album w/Jenny Hoyston that will be released by Southern in the fall. His new solo release will be in late summer.

That song 'Take it on the Chin' has the best story He says it is going to be on his new album that is coming out in August... did anyone get one of those postcards they were handing out, it said August on it I just don't have mine with the date on it.

WOW!! WEW!! He's about as real & honest as they get. Great voice, even Simon Cowell couldn't hate. I was never really into the real blues style before, but he opened me up to some good stuff. I'm sorry he didn't open the night I went. That would have been a treat.

I couldn't agree more, seeing him play was an awesome experience. Take It On The Chin was originally released on a selfmade demo that he released as well that pre-dates his other releases. I'm not where to pick it up, a friend gave me mine. Thanks to The Pogues for getting such a brilliant opening act! I just wish he would have been there at the 19th show as well.
