All those shows in Denmark, but only two in Sweden? Damnit!
They could at least come to stockholm :/

So, Danny Boy. Did you attend the concert?
I Did, and I had one of the greatest evenings of my life. One I will never forget.
It took place in the beautiful Göteborg concert hall (which is really made for orchestras.. the audience was really loud). And The Dubliners (Closing in on their 70ies) played for over 3 hours with a 20 minute break in the middle- For tea and cake, they said.
The new guy, Patsy Watchorn, did an amazing job and kind of reminded me about Luke Kelly with all the charisma, his great voice and the 5 string banjo. It was very apparant he brought alot of energy into the band.
The audience was very mixed.. and well.. there was alot of Pogues, Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphy's shirts around..

Bottomline is that I think The Dubliners only get better with the years.. It really struck me what virtuosity Eamonn, John and Barney have on their instrument.. And Patsy put alot of freshness into the band. I guess I should mention Sean as well- He sings very pretty in Irish and have a great charisma.. May they go on greying and playing for many years to come..

Sean use to live in Coventry a few years back, don't know if he still does. He used to turn up on the local folk scene and do impromtu stand ups at local irish clubs (four provinces) He used to be joined on stage by his son who would do an excellent cover of "pair of brown eyes"
I actually saw him and his lad play in my local pub one night (the burnt post) only about 50 people in there, a great night. And yes Seans voice is amazing.

Unfortunately I did not. A close familymember passed away so I wasn't exactly in the mood to spend twelve hours on a train that weekend.

I'm glad to hear that it was a good show though, and I'm sad to have missed it. Hopefully they'll return

Thanks for the interview Zuzana. And fair enough for Ronnie too... if he's happy in his 'retirement' than fair play to him. He has bought joy and delight to millions and deserves to take a well-earned 'rest'...

That interview is just a little bit strange. Why should they ask him if he wanted to leave himself? Then, his memory fails him, "The 40th reunion will remain the last" surely is not true - he was back with them last December in Dublin, I found that one: http://www.patsywatchorn.com/newsday.php?nd=news20060119
