The Dubliners to tour Scandinavia

Post Tue Jan 17, 2006 9:49 am

For all of you that missed the great news it's all here: http://www.geocities.com/toeye/dubliners/tour2006.htm

I already arranged with tickets to the Göteborg gig, unfortunately I have to bring a great deal of my relatives. I only hope they will behave ;)
And oh, perhaps Ronny Drew isn't with them on tour anymore, but the great Paddy Reilly is doing a very good job. I saw that on a DVD..

Fyllo, hey! Shed no tears, there's a good railway connection between Göteborg and Stockholm and an even cheaper one through the air.. :) You Stockholm people really need to step down from your royal throne at times and come down to the "countryside". We are talking about The Dubs here, that's huge! Yeah?

Simon, that would be a very sad thing, are you sure about this?

It would be really nice to see The Dubliners and beautiful Gothenburg again. But I have a wife and kids these days so traveling is out of the question.

I'll be there! Probably the only twenty-year old there, but what the hell, it's The Dubliners!

Quite a trip though - I live way up in umeå :/

Who is the singer in The Dubliners nowadays? Ronnie Drew left quite a few years ago, no?

Ronnie left in 1995. According to Patsy Watchorn's website, he will sing with the Dubliners on their 2006 tour.

Yes, Patsy Watchorn is the new singer, joined in September 2005.

They also have an interview with Eamonn Campbell and him online, about the current Dubliners CD from November 2005:

More Scandinavian dates are to confirmed shortly.

I´ll be missing Paddy alot, but Patsy seem alright too. 8) And as long as Barney, Eamonn, John are in the band it really can´t go wrong..
Danny, did you fetch any tickets for the Göteborg gig? I think it will be a very mixed audience.. I dont feel very old meself. :)

I had no idea Paddy owned a pub by the way, that´s interesting.. so he fell for the old cliché to emigrate.

Nope, haven't bought them yet. Still not sure who I'm going with. None of my friends are into this kind of music, save for one, and he can't afford it :(
But one thing's for sure - I AM going! :)
