We have one Pogues cover band in Québec, Canada called the "Lazy Drunken Bastards" and they are way better!

Haha, I play in that band!

This is a reply to paddy rolling stone!! If you want to hear a good pogues tribute band in Ireland youre after the wrong tribute. Bhoys from the County Hell are as authentic as they come and im afraid The Rogues dont have a patch on them! First of all the "Shane mac Gowan" of the band with a Dundalk accent palpable in his singing leaves a lot to be desired. Second of all it seems from a recent press release its all about the boozing and whatever else with The Rogues! If you want to hear a passionate, proper and pure legendary pogues tribute band the Bhoys from the County Hell are your band.

I hope they're playing over Christmas, I'd love to hear them.

I have since seen The Bhoys From The County Hell, 2 or 3 times in Drogheda. Top band alright, great sound. I'm not too fond of McHughs as a venue though. Is it just me, or is the sound shite? I wouldn't knock the Rogues, put on a decent show everytime I seen them.

Niave argument.

Thats exactly the same weak argument that Noel Hill and other traditional purists said when the Pogues started to tear lumps out of Traditional and Dubliners songs.

With Irish Traditional music, there are no rules anymore. This is mostly down to the Pogues. Its about taking the original and making of it what you want.

Oh, there ARE still rules, trust me. Nothing good can come of RIVERDANCE, for example. Or the Cranberries.
