Dead Rabbits - Pogues Tribute - New gig!!

Post Wed Apr 13, 2011 7:13 pm

Hello everyone! I’ve been a lurker on here for a couple of weeks but I’ve decided to break my vow of silence to shameless plug a gig for my band! I play in the Dead Rabbits, a tribute band to the Pogues based in Peterborough, and we are playing our first gig of the year on Friday 13th May. (I know, i know, we are a bunch of lazy bastards!) I don’t know how many forum members live in or around the Cambridgeshire area, but you if you do, you can catch us at The Prince of Wales Feathers pub in Castor, Peterborough. Its part of a weekend long beer festival so there will be plenty of good ales and good music! For more info you can go to: http://www.thedeadrabbits.com or: http://www.princeofwalesfeathers.co.uk/.

We have a few more gigs in the pipeline, but i will post details up on here as and when. That’s if anyone is interested! And i will also try not to lurk anymore and join in some of the “lively discussions”!!

Cheers!

Can't do 13th May, but keep us in touch.

How far out of Peterborough do you guys travel?
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.

Will do firehazard!

We do like to leave the fens every now and then! We do gigs up and down the country, and wherever anyone wants to play we will play there. We do have some interesting things coming up (fingers crossed!) which could be very exciting! Incidently, If there are any forum members out there who own or work for a venue and want to book us just drop me a message or visit the website.

Cheers Rich! I wouldn't say we are the first or the official, but hey, it looks good on the posters! :D

We had the great pleasure of playing with Spider and Andrew at a charity event we helped organise in Peterborough, in August 2007. They were absolutely brilliant, top blokes and it was one of the best nights of my life! There are no plans to play with them again, but we live in hope!

And Rich there's plenty of room for two bands! Could be some healthy competition for us!

The Dead Rabbits are pleased to announce another gig. Two gigs in one month! It's almost like a tour! We will be playing the Greetham Music-Ale Festival in Greetham, Rutland. It's part of a day long event of great music and plenty of fine ales, so i'm certainly looking forward to it! More information can be found here: http://www.greethamfestival.org.uk. Hope to see some of you there!

Bit of a clash with the Champions League final otherwise I think I would be making the trip, a Pogues tribute and proper beer. Sounds lovely.

Just to spread the word, there is a Dead Rabbits gig at the Brewery Tap in Peterborough, Friday 18th August 2017.

Follow link through Brewery Tap Peterborough, and "Whats On" for details.

Tickets are £10 in aid of Sue Ryder.

This is the 10th Anniversary of Randall Rootz, founded in memory of former dead rabbits drummer Mark Randall.

I haven't heard any rumours of Andrew or Spider joining them this time, but still sure to be a great night - it's been too long.
