Yes, the Chieftains are great – I especially enjoy their "Water From the Well" album. But better avoid "Tears Of Stone" if you aren't enamoured of sweet-voiced Celtic fairies who need over six minutes to get through Danny Boy... :lol:

And for ages every Christmas I used to deck tree to Bells of Dublin :wink:

One of my favourite bands. Very talented lot indeed.

Derek Bell was my favourite in the band,. A real story teller and a great man! Lovely in every way, may he rest in peace.

A typo in each word of a two word sentence. I'm impressed. Really. That's a 100% error rate. That takes some level of determination.

I think The Chieftains are amazing musicians. Unfortunately they have a tendency to favor fairly tedious arrangements of traditional tunes.

I've really enjoyed their Boil the Breakfast Early. I've really enjoyed their Van Morrison collaboration Irish Ways. I've been barely able to tolerate their Long Black Veil, and I can't stand their Christmas offering of The Bells of Dublin. I'm sure there are others that I have Irishman-like opinions about, but I can't think of them at this moment.
