On a chilly Melbourne morning, a long battle came to an end on Thursday as Rowland S Howard Lane was unveiled in St Kilda, complete with a lengthy street sign that almost sagged under its weight.
It is the third Melbourne lane named after homegrown musical greats, following ACDC Lane off Flinders Lane and Amphlett Lane – named for Divinyls singer Chrissy Amphlett – off Little Bourke Street..............Howard's former band mate and collaborator, Nick Cave, The Pogues' Shane MacGowan and US musician Henry Rollins lent their names to the campaign........"
