Hey,
First of all, many thanks to DZM for letting me post the path to my blog.
I have not been very active in this forum, even if I am an old Pogues fan.
During the last year I have been discussing at the Shite’n’Onions message
board (http://www.shitenonions.com). During the discussion about the best albums from
2008, an America friend told me to make some suggestions about European
releases. I thought about that and then I decided to post some samplers of
this kind of music in different European countries.
The tracks on these samplers have been taken from the bands’ websites of
other legal sites from which you can download them for free. They contain
the tracks that the bands want to share with their fans. My intention is
obviously to help the bands, I am doing it for free.
I have tried to include bands that are not well-known or
that have only released demos, you will not find there famous bands. Every
sampler contains around 4 bands from the same country. Some are excellent,
some are good and some are "less good" The quality of the
mp3 obviously may vary, some are 96 kbps.
I have made an artwork for every sampler and included the bands’
discographies and line-ups. In all the samplers it is clearly stated that
the artworks, pictures and songs copyrights belong to their respective
owners, and that they are free mp3 sourced samplers intended only for
promotional purposes.
After having posted some samplers, I thought that maybe I should spread
the word. Other people who are not members of the S’n’O message board could be
interested in them. Besides, if I want to make the bands known, I should
contact other people/sites that normally deal with this kind of music. Even
some bands have enjoyed my project and have included the sampler in their
discography, for instance, Boggin Leprechaun, from Germany:

I think that some of the people on the Pogues fora could be interested in
them, since many bands are obviously influenced by The Pogues.
Please have a look to my blog and enjoy the music.

The samplers are stored at mediafire and compressed as .zip files. Apart
from those samplers, I have posted links to bands that share free
one/several albums. You can also read the first post in which you will find
a longer explanation about this project.
Thanks and regards
