Anytime is possible, if theres places (pubs/clubs/events) interested in bookings for the band then all that needs to be done is contact me about it bu phone or e-mail and its as simple as that. Its always best to try get things like this done several weeks or months in advance.
Ok, so let me know the score and who's lookin for us, tell them get in touch soon as possible, we are doing gigs in Ireland at the moment and we are touring in the Czech Republic for 2 weeks in august, Norway is looking for us in september, and now theres some guy in the U.S.A. who is wanting to get us out there as well.
Ok, get back to me, thanks for your enquiry!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cool. Will do some investigations and get back to you, Michael. I wrote a song some time ago about a poor guy Michael lost at sea and the woman waiting patiently watching o'er the clifftops for him...ha ha ha - could've bin you. Are you a seafarer then?? Or just a Hogger?? 8)

Irishbookish,

Funny you should ask if I am a seafarer. The answer is no but..........................I USED TO BE ! Yes its true, I grew up here on the west coast of Ireland and I followed in the family tradition of fishing, I was raised on the sea, used to make lobster pots, make and mend fishing nets, salted mackerel , herrings, pollock & gunners in large barrels. I did this until I finally packed it in back in 1988, that was my last year on sea professionally, was a great and healthy life but of course also held lots of dangers as you can imagine, I loved it, it was great but that seem slike a a whole lifetime away now, there was huge amounts of hogging back then as well as I made great money on the sea and after selling lobsters or salmon I'd have several hundred pounds in my pocket at a time and money back in the 70's and 80's went an awful long way on drink as it was so cheap back then, wow was there some extreme hogging back then when I think about it, I was a lot worse in fact,a total header! Music back then for me was only part time and only on weekends, The Pogues did'nt exist either back then until around 83 or thereabouts.

Allright, since another tour in Czechia is closing, I started practising a bit - and I tried to do Galtee Mountain Boy as whole song, more tracks not only the whistle :-) http://www.box.net/shared/uy8fhinksc
You just click "play" and it starts, not too surprisingly, playing

At least the rhytm seems more or less allright, I guess, but I´m no good singer, sadly :-)

OIroioish,

Free at end of june????? We're doing gigs in Ireland at the moment, in fact since we got back here we have got a lot of calls so we're busy enough.
Anyway, why do you ask about the end of june? Is there some weekend festival in some place looking for us?

I'm led to believe that right about now The Hogs (including our very own Pyro) are enjoying beers in Prague and getting ready to embark on the next tour.

Have a great show guys! I'm looking forward to updates from the road by Michael and Pyro.

HERE are photos from one of the first stops of the Czech "hogging" tour – open-air gig which took place on an island in the picturesque town of Litoměřice on Friday. Great setting, spirited set, and the final encore consisted of If I Should Fall From Grace With God and Streams Of Whiskey. :)

Good there´s no photo of my feet

Anyway, I have two days for resting now, so all's good - nothing special happened so far, methinks...
