Navigator cover version.

Post Wed Feb 27, 2008 9:23 pm

Hi, not sure if this is the correct section, but here goes.

I remember a good, good few years ago hearing a cover version of 'Navigator' on the radio. I'm sure it was by No means no, or someone from the group, but I can't find any info anywhere.

Can anyone help?

Cheers in advance for your time.

Kris Drever does a sweet version. 'Tis on his album Black Water.
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.

Did Mr Gaston write this song specifically for The Pogues, or did he record this song himself before ?

Phil wrote it for The Pogues. He also wrote special material for Agnes Bernelle and Pride Of The Cross.

Thanks. It´s really a nice song that fits perfectly well the other songs on the album.

I heard that on last.fm recently. Quite enjoyed it - it was the first time I was aware of its existence. It ain't half bad.

About 10 years ago, Jim Martin (formerly of Faith No More) covered Navigator on his solo CD. It was sort of a punk-ish version, if I remember correctly.
