We interviewed Simon Phillips of Newport about the shows he put on in aid of striking miners in 1984, including a legendary show from The Pogues:

"The content doesn't seem to be working." :(
Any idea if the video is temporarily down or if only watchers from the UK can access it?

Plays OK for me, so it may well be country-restricted. Basically, the gentleman recalls how at a 1984 Miners Benefit with The Pogues, members of the audience spontaneously picked up beer trays and started bashing themselves over the head with them, in solidarity with the Miners............er...........in solidarity with Spider.................um............but anyway, it was, as he says "pretty mental". On Billy Bragg, he notes that Bill returned 60% of his £250 fee to him as a contribution to the Miners' Food Fund.
