DOWNLOAD FoNY THIS WEEK FOR XMAS NUMBER ONE!

As you all must be aware, the past few days have been very, very exciting in poguedom - The Radio 1 Censorship of our beloved FoNY which has now been overturned, and as a result of this massive error in judgement, FoNY has been garnering far more airplay and exposure, and as a result of this, has catapulted up the download charts, currently at Number one on the HMV Digital chart, and Number two in the Itunes Download charts! if we all rally together, I really think we could finally give Fairytale a sporting chance of topping the charts, 20 years after it was first released!

a legal download is just 79p, which to most people is nothing from there bank account, and in the long run it will definitely be worth it!

come on, lets finally put the world to rights!!!

If if download from iTunes UK will that count towards the UK or Irish chart? Are the X-Factors singles released yet?

No. 1 in the Irish download charts. Doesn't seem to be any christmas singles there? When are they released?

If you download the song from iTunes UK, it counts towards the UK chart. If you download it from iTunes Ireland it counts towards the Irish chart.

I own several copies of the song - on IISFFGWG, the Best of..., the Very Best of..., the re-released single/DVD from a couple of years ago but I decided to download it again anyway. Just out of principle.

Fairytale Of New York is one of the songs you can see performed this Saturday on ITV's Britain Sings Christmas. It's the finale and you can find out what song the nation's voted to be their favourite Christmas Carol. FONY's made the top 10 but will it make it to the top spot?

You can find more information on the show and catch some behind the scenes footage at http://www.itv.com/Entertainment/Music/ ... fault.html

The countdown show will be recorded the day before, on Friday 21st December, and will link up live to four big screen locations around the UK from 6.45pm to 7.45pm. Check the website to find the closest screen to you, to join in the Britain Sings Christmas fun!

People buy what you tell them to buy, simple. Thank you once again to everyone who bought "Fairytale" despite being told NOT to. The record has now been in the Top 10 for four of the past 20 years and in the top 40 for five of the past 20 years. It has in that time reached positions #2, #3 and #4 in separate years. That's some achievement and even young Leon knows that, and would, I think, tell you so if you asked him. Merry Christmas Leon.

Young Leon would probably say "Whats a fairytale of New York" and then if you asked him the question about four of the last twenty years he would probably look at you blankly and say "Can i have my crayons back please" or I am just being plain horrible

Well, I did actually hear the child on the radio last night and he assured his interviewer he had "certainly not taken the #1 spot for granted" this year, whatever anyone else told him. That's classy if you're 18.
