In Ireland it's also very rare to hear them on the radio. Ray D'arcy, (Today FM) is a fan and his mam loves Shane. Christmas 2004 they broadcast from her kitchen and had a session going (11 in the morning!!!) Shane arrived and they sang Fairytale together. Mrs D'arcy said it was huge dream come true.

Ray plays Sally and Soho every now and then.

I did actually hear it live. So it wasn't a dream? Good.

Larry Kirwan plays The Pogues often on Celtic Crush on Sirius, though I very rarely hear them on Sirius otherwise...

We listen quite often to a public radio station from the University of Northern Iowa which plays an eclectic mix several hours most evenings. Out of curiosity I did a search of their playlists from the past year and found the following tunes:

Sally MacLennane
Billy's Bones
Fairytale of New York
Misty Morning, Albert Bridge
Turkish Son of the Damned
White City
Boat Train
The Band Played Waltzing Matilda
Songs are really just very interesting things to be doing with the air. - Tom Waits

As far as corporate stations in Toronto (havn't really listened to any out here in Vancouver), i've heard Fairytale once or twice, near Xmas, and that's it.

However, I've heard a few tunes on different CBC shows over the years. Fairytale tops that list, the others tend to depend on a theme being explored in the show. I know i've heard Dirty Old Town once, can't think what else at the moment.

Back when i had shows on community radio in Peterborough, Ontario, i played lots...

My buddy is a station director at the University of South Carolina's radio station, and he ever since I got him into the Pogues, he plays them often. Usually he plays:

If I Should Fall From Grace With God
Sunny Side of the Street
White City
London Girl
Lullaby of London

I'm sure he'll try to work Fairytale of New York once the season rolls around. Unfortunately, I live in California, so I don't listen to his radio shows.
