Message received from amazon.co.uk today:

"We wanted to give you an update on the status of your order...

We are sorry to report that the following items have been delayed.

Carol Clerk "Pogue Mahone: Kiss My Arse: The Story of The Pogues"

Our current estimate is that it will take an additional 4-6 weeks to
obtain these items for you."

So there's obviously a problem somewhere along the publication-distribution line.
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.

Just to let you know. . . Omnibus have taken delivery of a box of copies, so they have been printed and they do exist! I guess it just takes a while to get them out of the warehouse and into the shops.

I went into Waterstones in Liverpool on lunch and they are saying its been delayed till January 1st 2007?????

Well least we've got a date now (for the book I mean, Rich).

We could meet in Waterstone Coffee Shop on New Years Day and read extracts to each other to bring in the New Year :D

To be fair my girlfriend went in yesterday as well to see if she could get it as a suprise for me (I wont shut up about it at home) and she was told Jan 1st, however they did say that it was just a note on their system and it may not be acurate and they where going to phone the publishers and find out.

What a lovely idea about the coffee shop on New Year's Day. Very poetic. It would almost be worth postponing the book to make that happen. . .
The official news from Omnibus is that the book is released this week and will be in the shops by "next week latest".
I'll get back to them now about this 4-6 weeks thing from Amazon.

Carol your an absolut angel. Not only have you written the book but all the chasing up as well. I think its a case of just be patient. I for one didnt realise the procedure for a book and found myself at the bookshop at 9.00am on Monday thinking like a DVD or CD it would just be there. Thanks for all your efforts

Latest. . . Omnibus are going to look into the messages from Amazon. I'm sure there must be a mix-up at Amazon's end, but I'll let you know when I hear back about it.

For what it's worth, I've ordered mine from Amazon.ca and I've received the following update about delivery:

"Item not yet shipped:
Delivery estimate: Oct 16 2006 - Oct 18 2006 "

Here's hoping it will...........

And probably off the police as we would have had to have broken in as I suppose it will be closed on New Years Eve ha ha ha

Shame you can't make it Christmas Eve. Seems appropriate, somehow...

I wouldn't bet on that, some places now open on New Years Day, it's called greed.

The cover looks like Shane is looking up Nora Batty's skirt and seeing heaven ;) Don't have a link to Nora's hemline though. :)
