The very fine looking young lady in Waterstones in Liverpool informed me it has been delayed, but that she's also ordered it!

Indeed.

But I am not a Book seller I’m afraid, I simply popped in during lunch hour yesterday.

I guess if she'd known she’d have told me.

Don't blame the poor gal at Waterstone's... Knowing the book trade, usually the last people to be know what's going on with a new publication are the booksellers themselves, even a large concern like Waterstone's.

Book publication dates are notoriously fickle things. I don't know a lot about the publisher of this book (Omnibus Press), but publishers are often smitten by last-minute delays in publication or distribution dates, which can totally screw things up as far as booksellers are concerned.

Amazon still have the publication date for the book as 9th October, but are now saying "delivery is normally within 4 to 6 weeks". As they do. So there may have been a late hiccup with it. Better-informed people may, of course, know more...

Hi people,
Just to let you know. . . Omnibus have taken delivery of a box of copies, so they have been printed and they do exist! I guess it just takes a while to get them out of the warehouse and into the shops.

You guys are lucky in Virginia, Barnes and Noble and even the ever reliable Borders doesn't even have the book listed in their database. So I don't know when I'll be able to get my hands on a copy, might have to order it on amazon.com

That's good to know, Carol. "Distribution delays"... ah, 'tis ever thus. :)

As of today it is available to order through Amazon in the US, but with a 4-6 week delivery time.

http://www.amazon.com/Pogue-Mahone-Kiss ... 1846090083

And Amazon was nice enough to discount the book to $24.74, 26 cents below the requirement for free shipping.

I can't believe that Waterstones have got this right. Tell you what, I'll check with the publishers tomorrow and post again then.
