Since ye brought it up..

Taken from DamienDempsey.com

"I went to the Spirit club after the awards with a few friends, that’s where the aftershow party was meant to be. But I think a lot of the “celebs” went southside to Reynards and Lillies which suited me grand. I’ve always liked the Spirit club and it’s handy for getting home if you live on that side of the river as you only have to walk half the distance to get a cab. Shane MacGowan arrived in fairly late and I had a bit of a yarn with him. He was in flying form and drinking water. I have a funny feeling he has a great album in the bag and he’s gonna surprise everyone on his next outing. He was laughing when I was saying how envious I was of his intellect, if you’ve ever spoken to him one on one you’d know what I mean, he’s an amazingly bright fella and his grasp of history and his memory are amazing as I’m sure you’ve realised by his music. He says to me “do you really want my brain?”, “No”, says I, “ I want your songs though”."
