Obviously they're deserving but somehow it makes me feel uneasy. Does this award mark their passage into acceptable society?

This also falls into the "hmmm" category:
The Pogues will take to the stage along with The Darkness, Westlife, Jamie Cullum, Damien Dempsey, Bell X1 and Republic of Loose.


Anyway, congrats to the Pogues.

Yeah it seems the pogues have 'come in from the cold' ! Apart from the well informed they didn't exactly go down well in Ireland in the 1980s.

This is great, unless someone gets the impression that the Pogues are over. And from what Philip had to say about this when he originally posted it, at least some in the band had some reservations about a lifetime achievement award because they aren't finished doing their thing yet.

Actually, it was only Philip who had reservations about doing this. The rest of us are looking on it as a couple of nights out in Dublin and a chance to spend some time together.
