BBC4 tunes up for folk season

I guess this is the series previously referred to in the Men They Couldn't Hang thread.

BBC4 tunes up for folk season
UK digital TV channel BBC 4 is offering a season of programmes celebrating the traditional music of the British Isles, starting with a three-part documentary called Folk Britannia next month.

Divided into three one-hour shows, Folk Britannia traces the evolution of British folk music from the end of the Second World War to its latter-day revival.

The first programme, Ballads & Blues, explores politics, ownership and the birth of the British folk revival; the second installment, called Folk Roots New Routes, looks at the 1960s folk boom; while Between the Wars examines how, since a low point in the late 70s, the genre has continually reinvented itself to appeal to new audiences.

The series is narrated by musicians such as Billy Bragg, Peggy Seeger, Bert Jansch, Beth Orton and Shane MacGowan.
