Hang on a mo. There's no date on that review, as far as I can see. Is it a review of a Christmas 2005 gig? NME didn't publish a review of 2004...
But they did publish a review of the 2001 reunion. And the "post September 11" in the last paragraph could be a clue... is this in fact just the 2001 review again, from the NME website archive? :?

It also states " was kicked from the Pogues a decade ago drunk," which would also suggest it being a 2001 review.

Not only the Pogues themselves but even reviews of their gigs are timeless.

And don't tell me it's 2006 already...

Has been for a couple of days now. I might add that The Future has been largely disappointing. Where's my flying car? Where's my ray-gun? Where's my swinging bachelor's pad on the moon?

And the silver suits we were all supposed to be wearing... It's just so disappointing, DzM.

So there is only one possible and obvious conclusion! it's NOT 2006 !!! They lie. We are getting brainwashed.

Sorry, MacRua, but I think it is 2006. It's just that, as DzM has observed, The Future is disappointing. The brainwashing is an attempt to make us believe that it will naturally be better than it actually is...
For example, leading us to believe that NME might publish an up-to-date and accurate review of The Pogues.

Silver suit is better then jeans?! Flying cars falling on heads are better than no falling? holes from ray-guns are more aesthetical then from bullets or knives? You are kidding me, boys!
