BAR-L , IV,E SEEN MORE TROUBLE AT A POGUES GIG.

That was the headline to an article in todays Scottish Sun.
Its basically a story about scots indie band The Shrinking Violets playing a couple of Xmas gigs in Glasgow notorious Barlinnie prison or better known as Bar-L.
The article written by a guy called Mark Bendoris includes this pathetic piece of amusing(not) drivel

Not only were they being confronted by some truly scary scarfaced cons,but occasional previous groups had been booed off stage.
And it was just as well classical percussionist Evelyn Glennie is deaf
,so she could,nt hear what the prisoners were shouting during her recital.
Luckily the crowd loved the Shrinking Violets and their confidence swelled.
But one inmate isn,t happy and is suddenly huckled from the middle of the seated crowd.BIG DEAL-ive seen more people evicted from a Pogues concert.

Dont know about anyone else but i find this crap insulting to Pogues fans and could put people who dont know the truth off from going to a Pogues show.
I would like to ask this prick
A) Has he ever even been to a Pogues gig
B) If he has can he verify this claim.(i was at both the Glasgow shows and never seen or heard of anyone being turfed out)
C) Is he a bigot (it is Glasgow after all)
And i would like him to know that hes just lost his paper a reader

I agree. Pogues fans certainly take some shit from newspaper folk. But, as I tirelessly point out to anyone who'll listen, these newspaper folks are all DRUNK and allowances must be made. Like the band, Pogues fans rise above these sozzled and sotted meanderings.

i think people who have only heard fairytale of new york are bemused when they hear of pogues gigs being raucous with people geting kicked out ..'dont they just play them irish love songs' my mate asked me...
