The Pogues will be making their first visit to the U.S. in years when they hit the East Coast for a string of six shows in March.

After reuniting in late 2004, the legendary Irish rockers have been touring in the UK and Ireland for the last year. The band, which has broken up several times, previously had played together in 2001.
Original Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan, who left the band in the mid-'90s, has been back at his usual station behind the microphone for the band's latest reunion shows.

The Pogues kick off their 2006 U.S. tour with a March 10 show in Washington, DC. The mini-tour concludes with a three-night stand at New York's Nokia Theatre.

Although The Pogues haven't released an album of original music since 1996's "Pogue Mahone," the band has been busy recently on the reissue front. In 2005, Warner Music reissued all seven of the band's studio albums in Europe, and earlier this year the band cobbled together the 2-CD best-of "The Ultimate Collection," also a Europe-only release.

The band has also scheduled the Dec. 18 reissue of the 1987 single "Fairytale of New York" in the UK. The date coincides with the fifth anniversary of the death of singer and occasional Pogues collaborator Kirsty Macoll, who sings co-lead on the track.
