Visited the West Cork Distillers last week in Skibbereen. Showed up unannounced and was welcomed in for a tour of distillery. Heard some great stories of how the Whiskey came about and a possible promotional show?? Bought a couple of bottles and scored a few promotional T-shirts. Super friendly people there.

Great little story. I must try to get down there myself this summer. I got a bottle for Christmas but I don't drink whiskey so it's untouched.

Those of you in Brooklyn can order Pogues Whiskey from Henry Street Liquors at 494 Henry St. in Carroll Gardens. They have a relationship with West Cork Distillers. I ordered my Pogues Whiskey today and I'm told that it should arrive in a few days!

I used to love scotch..too much actually! Although i'm now clean and sober (2 years 3 months) I still get the almost overwhelming urge to 'walk into a bar etc etc' ..I wonder if scotch would make me 'spew' if I ever started drinking it again! haha! I hope to hell I never find out the answer.

A friend of mine who attended all 7 East Coast shows with me emailed just today:

I saw it at Colonial Liquors in La Plata [MD]. I was wearing a Pogues shirt and the guy behind the counter was like "you know we have Pogues whiskey, right?" I was like Huuuuuu-what??? It's $41.99 a bottle.
