I know Mr. Chevron had given up the drink before he passed. I believe Spider and Terry are dry too. Do any of the other Pogues still imbibe? Besides you know who?

I see your small snake in whiskey bottle and raise you mine.

Daughter brought it back from somewhere out east. I use it to scare troublesome kids.

Evidently someone was able to step away for long enough to update the site.

Sorry Hennybhoy, no official information about markets outside of Ireland and U.K. yet. For now we'll have to abuse our raft-mate's kindness (and shipping prowess) to get any.

I checked with Peter Pogue, the president of Old Pogue in Maysville, Kentucky. Here's his response, as quoted in our story at http://whiskycast.com/old-pogue-new-pogues-no-problem/:

“We worked closely and cooperatively with the distiller of The Pogues Irish Whiskey (West Cork Distillers) to avoid any trademark issues that may arise. As our family makes only Kentucky Bourbon and Rye Whiskey we were amenable to permitting an Irish Whiskey under the band’s name. The package, product, and brand are very dissimilar to ours. We did not want to try and prohibit a worthy product from availability in the U.S.”

Hope this helps!

I wish they'd record and release ONE new song instead of slapping their name on a whiskey. P.S. - When they say "It’s been brilliant working with such experts to come up with a whiskey that we all think reflects our spirit and that we all like the taste of. It’s wonderful to add to the ranks of great Irish whiskeys and we hope it stands the test of time" keep in mind that (as far as I know) only 4 Pogues or fewer drink now.

Well, it's just sort of irrelevant at the end of the day.

Don't get me wrong, i love whiskey, and i love the pogues. If i have an opportunity to buy this i will. But then, if i come across a bottle of Old Pogue Bourbon, which has nothing to do with the band, i'll buy that too. But it's none of it music, and i won't be any more excited about any of it than i would of a new shirt or other merchandise to buy. I mean, if i could buy the whiskey (or a new shirt) at a Pogues CONCERT then i'd be excited...

£30 for a bottle of whiskey @ 40% abv????? This is a 100% rip-off.
Morrisons sell own-brand gin & vodka @ 43% abv for £15. Now, That is worth drinking.
I gotta problem with alcohol....it costs far too much.
The Pogues....Irishmen from London, like spike Milligan was an Irishman born in India........
Market yr Irish whiskey @ 45% abv, for £15, and folks will listen to yr music.
Otherwise, don't forget to drive on the left when u're in the USA.
