Mmmm. Whiskey.

On July 24 in London The Pogues announced that they have partnered with West Cork Distillers, one of the few remaining independent distillers left in Ireland, to produce an Irish Whiskey all their own.

Commenting on the partnership, The Pogues say: "It's been brilliant working with such experts to come up with a whiskey that we all think reflects our spirit and that we all like the taste of. It's wonderful to add to the ranks of great Irish whiskeys and we hope it stands the test of time."

It's so dang new, the website's not up yet. Wondering about US distribution...

Well, they're all at a launch party right now. Too busy to update the web site. :)

I understand that they plan to hit international markets (meaning "not Ireland and the United Kingdom") eventually but not at launch.

Sorry Hennybhoy, no official information about markets outside of Ireland and U.K. yet. For now we'll have to abuse our raft-mate's kindness (and shipping prowess) to get any.

I wonder if this existing brand of bourbon in the USofA will cause any difficulties with importing commercially:
