The Obscurometer ranks the obscurity of musicians based on user statistics. A score of 83.6% means that 83.6% of users have not listened to the Pogues (Troglodytes!) The average artist obscurity is 91.7% so the Pogues are less obscure than average. Apparently the least obscure band is Coldplay.

CORRECTION: The Pogues are only 48.6% obscure. Pogues (without "the") are tracked separately, apparently.

Remarkably, David Bowie (15%) is less obscure than Elvis Presley (25%). As the guys say in Spinal Tap, as they pay tribute at the King's grave, "too much fucking perspective"
