I just saw the Subaru commercial while watching The Middle. I was pleasantly surprised to hear the Pogues coming out of my TV. The song can be lent well to commercials in a thousand different ways, but a mom carting her kid's hockey team around? I know bands don't usually have control over that sort of thing, I'm just saying whoever Subaru hired to make the ad could've done a better job of pairing music and footage.

"What kind of music do we have?"
"Well, there's this really fast paced number with a banjo, accordion and-"
"Perfect! We'll put it to a mom carpooling her kid's hockey team."

This is not unlike a scene of me carpooling my daughters' Irish dance school kids, or a group of homeschoolers. But then again, I don't drive a Subaru. Ya'll oughtta be in a Toyota commercial!

i drive a subaru and the pogues are always playing. subaru should've paid ME to do the commercial. i would've done it for half of what they paid the ad people

Just saw the commercial. I can't find it on the internet. Great 80's bands get more airtime now than when they were actually performing.

Yes, Cadillac Escalade and Sunnyside of the Street. Shane singing about his lust for vomit as a yuppie family prepares for the day by handing their infant off to the nanny and piling the rest of the family into the SUV for a cruise around the 'burbs.
