Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere but in the latest edition of Mojo you can find an interview with Shane MacGowan spread over several pages.
Cheers

Read it in WH Smith's like the rest of us. Though there is a really good pic of Shane by Tom Sheehan, it's really not an especially illuminating piece. Clearly he agreed to do it by way of a favour to the Popes.

Is WH Smiths still going? Once they closed down the one in Sloane Square when I was 15 I thought they were on their way out !
Mind you, a hell of a lot of robbing going on then from pesky school kids with their love of stationary. I never robbed anything, I was too scared. My brother however got caught in Peter Jones. Good. He always has been a twat.
Anyway, how much is this MOJO magazine, I'll buy it and type it up if theres a demand?

There speaks the voice of the true Sloane. If it's not in Harvey Nicks, it's unwearable!
It's 4 pounds 10 shillings, but it's quite a loooooooong piece (6 pages of MOJO including pics).

Mojo's website hasn't exactly tempted me to spend my hard-earned:
VENTURE WITH MOJO into depths of Tipperary in the early hours, bellow rebel songs with drunken, sixtysomething locals, and encounter in its natural habitat that most elusive of fowl, the greater spotted Shane MacGowan.
The Pogues legend submits - if that can possibly be the word - to an ultra-rare interview with MOJO this month.
Along the way, he drinks enough booze to fell a hippo and reveals a terrifying cure for baldness. "You pour Guinness over your head, collect it in a bucket, and drink it in the morning," he suggests. "It's proven to work."
In the course of a freewheeling conversation with MOJO's Will Hodgkinson, MacGowan reveals his struggles with "the musical mind police" and the secret psychedelic culture of rural Ireland. "Marijuana grows wild here," he says. "People have been cultivating it for as long as forever."
In a dramatic denouement, our refreshed hero then falls into a ditch in the 6am half-light and drags MOJO to visit a "fairy fort". "Only two people have ever gone in there," warns MacGowan. "The first had to be taken straight to the lunatic asylum. Another came out with totally white hair."
Find out if Shane and MOJO end up alive, dead, or in the loony bin
So Shane drinks a bit, does he? That's an entirely original position for an interviewer to take.
Wouldn't mind seeing the really good pic though...

If you've got his money, those kind of allegations tend to disappear.

Harvey Nicks was the other way from us, we never ventured up Sloane Street - Many a lunch break spent on the Kings Road, there used to be an area where you could kick a football to each other and sit on the fence.. or spit paper through McDonalds straws at each other. Lovely, wouldn't you say?
As I type at a stupid speed I will type it up, only if I can pick one up from across the road. These newsagents aren't very cool so it might have to wait until the weekend -
Best -
Walshy

Rod for your own back comes to mind
I was in MOJO mag when they interviewed Shane in Tipp back in the 90's. Noel Kenny asked me along for a few pints. A picture of Noel, Shane and myself made it in. That's my claim to fame

Walshy, Get a move on. I'm snowbound and can't get to all good bookshops in Sligo.
Fr. McGreer, McRua has a scan of that MOJO on his site.

Cheers Noel. I actually still have the original magazine.
