In our local HMV on Friday, first time I heard it this year. Possibly because of a) the nation is X-Factor obsessed, b) I'm going deaf, c) I have not been shopping enough.
Moreover, they played an instrumental version and then rudely interrupted it for a shop announcement. A disgrace.

My only hearings of Fairytale are on my ipod, despite going shopping on the weekend to the sort of stores that I'd rather wait outside of, like the dutiful husband over a certain age, I've still not heard it

I've heard it surprisingly few times while out shopping this year. I did hear it while having a haircut at the weekend. There are times when you just have to resist swaying along to the music in the time-honoured way.

Hollyoaks tomorrow night at 6.30pm Channel 4 (not that I watch it).
I've just seen the first part of the episode on E4+1 First Look (not that I watch it) - full FONY with different character couples singing it to each other.
"you're cheap and you're haggered"

In addition to Coronation Street ,it's also been on Emmerdale twice this week and it was voted viewers favourite Xmas song on Lorraine Kelly on GMTV this morning. I must get out more.
