First "Fairytale" of the Season?

Post Sun Nov 08, 2009 10:41 am

The shops are already dripping with tinsel, fairy lights and would-be recession-busting pieces of merchandise. As Noddy Holder says, "It's Chriiiiiiiistmaaas!" But it's not really, is it, not until the first sighting of "Christmas In New York" by the Pogues 'n' Kirsty in your mall, on your radio or on gran's ipod. Early appearances here please.

I played Fairytale of New York in my shop this morning, much to the delight of my customers. It brings out the sentimentality in them and makes them spend more on Christmas presents :D

This doesn't really count, but my sister just informed me that she heard Fairytale in the movie "P.S. I Love You." Apparently there are multiple Pogues songs in the movie, so even though I never would have checked it out in a million years before, it has just been upgraded to the status of "movie to rent when we absolutely can't find anything else in the video store."

I played it yesterday, just be sure I still could.

Haven't heard it being played by The Pogues. Yet.

But sooner or later even shops in Oz will get around to it. 8)

While we took the kids trick-or-treating, somebody was giving out cups of Bailey's to adults in costume. I thought they were mixing holidays, but i kept my mouth shut & took the drink.

Does hearing it on my iPod count when I'm out shopping?
I wish I'd done biology for an urge within me wanted to do it then

Depends if it's Christmas shopping you're doing.

Hopefully, the DVD has a place where you can select to go directly to the music. Despite some very talented actresses, H. Swank, K. Bates, and the always
sexy Gina Gershon, it just doesn't work :(

Why would you buy the film just to hear the tracks? Why dont yeh just play the cd version?

Confused.

Why then you'd miss the actors attempting their own versions of "Christmas in New York" and "Love You Till The End".
