great to be able to hear this again. This was an absolutely classic interview and was great how Pogues totally turned the table on those traditional purist snobs who got on their high horse that night.
Cait didnt do hereself any favours but overall the band came across very well.
BP Fallons quip about his receding hairline was very funny

Sean Campbell offers an analysis of the episode in his excellent new book Irish Blood, English Heart, which concerns itself mainly with second generation Irish musicians who were in the vanguard of English pop music. It concentrates primarily on The Pogues, Dexys and The Smiths, with detours into the Sex Pistols, Oasis, Culture Club, Bananarama etc.

“Irish Blood, English Heart”: Second Generation Irish Musicians in England

(Hardback - March 2011)

Sean Campbell
Anglia Ruskin University, UK

€39.00

Considering the hefty price I'm waiting to read a library copy of this . I did leaf through it today in Easons and I was dead chuffed to see that I'm listed in the credits , along with Phil , with a link to this thread. Interestingly Sean has managed to secure that rare thing a interview with Cait. She's quoted at length. I'll comment more when I get to read the book in full.

Can someone please steer me in the right direction?

All I hear are tales about American boxing legend Muhammad Ali.

I can't seem to be able to access/download any of the mediums offered within this thread.

Please help! I've been waiting 25 years to hear this! Thanks

I'll ask Martin to check up on the Mediafire link he posted and, if necessary, re-post it.

Martin says it works fine for him. Mediafire is notorious for 'pop-ups' etc. so maybe that's not getting through some filters. It's just a matter of being careful not to open them.

Thanks, John and Martin!

Still no luck. Sigh... I guess some things were not meant to be.

Out of interest Fay have you been able to download and play the mp3 file yet .Where you able to follow the links download and save the file.Is the problem with downloading or opening the file. ?
I have just tried the link ,eg click on the above link. New mediafile host link page with lots of ads appears and click to download file box file middle right of page. .Click on download file box , counts down ,pop up for save or open file appears . Checked save as to folder of choice .It then starts to % download , when fully downloaded the file is mp3 format and played in windows media player with out any problems.
