The forum software has just gone through a major upgrade. This inevitably means that lots of things that used to work probably no longer do. If you find things, please let me know.
In the meanwhile here's some things that are cool that you might like:
UPDATE: Here's a little clarification on where Friends and Foes are identified. In your User Control Panel (upper left of your browser window) is a tab labeled Friends & Foes. In this tab you can enter the names of people you want to pay special attention to or want to ignore. You can ALSO add people on a one-by-one basis by visiting their profile (easiest way is to click on their name or avatar next to a post), then click the appropriate link in the profile (the two to look for at the mysteriously labeled "Add Friend" and "Add Foe"). ... Hmm. Maybe someday we can have a "People Love Me THIS MUCH score based on some value balancing how many people Friend and Foe you. Hmmmmmm. No way that'll lead to hurt feelings and sulking.
Friends: These are people you like. The forum will now make a special effort to highlight messages from people that you have "friended." This feature doesn't yet do much, but please mark people you like as "Friends" anyway. At some point Medusa will somehow arrange for everyone to get a group hug from their friends.
Foes: These are people you don't like. Place someone in your enemies list if you no longer want to see messages from them (note that you will still their words if they are quoted in another user's message, and also note that no matter how badly you may want to you are not able to ignore the site janitors)
Report: That's the little "yield" sign you see on messages. Gives you the chance to sort of anonymously rat-out your fellow raft dwellers. This will let the Janitors know that this message is for some reason in need of special attention.
Other stuff: There's just a lot of other stuff. Some good, some crappy. Explore. Also click on the "User Control Panel" that you see on the upper left of the page. That's where you do exciting things like manage your preferences.
The Medusa theme is as yet incomplete and still looks a lot like ass (or arse). I'm working on it, but figured that it was evolved enough to no longer wait on rolling out the new software.
