There are thousands of social networking sites on the Internet. Why not go join the Pogues community on LiveJournal? Maybe Yahoo (I'm certain there's one there)? The Friends O' Shane forum? If Medusa is so fucking bad, what brings you back to it? Why not just fuck off to a place that makes you happier?

I know you don't come here for me any more than I come here for you. But no matter how much you may like or dislike me, you can't help but encounter me by coming here. It's inevitable due to the nature of moderated boards - you WILL encounter the moderators and the rules they lay out.

Since you obviously don't like the rules (or, let's be more accurate and call them guidelines) that I lay out and ask Zuzana and MacRua to help enforce, I'm trying to understand why you bother coming back. If I went to a bar that insisted on putting two large spoonfuls of salt into every drink, I'd stop going to that bar.

Why? You hate me, you hate my rules, you hate the Janitors. You fancy yourself a true natural man in touch with your inner fun having guy, and we're a bunch of stuck-up pricks that just refuse to see how much fun we could be having. We are, I think you said, shuffling the chairs for the upper-class of the Titanic while you crazy kids drink and sing and cavort and have fun.

So why not go somewhere where you don't feel oppressed?

Or if you really love it here so much, but think I and the others are so misguided, why not make an effort to actually talk with us? Look at why we do what we do, and provide a rational argument for change rather than snarky bitching? Why not help us make the place better than shout bullshit into the storm about how badly we suck? The fact is, for better or worse, I pay for and run this place. No matter what you say or do, you're stuck with me until something better comes along, or until I get too tired of it. Why not actually make an effort to improve the place?
