PMs

Post Sat Jan 12, 2008 5:07 pm

It used to be that my personal email would announce I had a PM from someone on the forum. It no longer does this and I have to remember to click PM whilst logged on. Is this a new feature or have I screwed up my settings somehow?

This actually happened to me around the time that the server was being moved, but everything's fine now.

It's possible that for whatever reason the emails to you are being blocked. Have you checked you spam folder to see if they're there?

Are you able delete you own post that isn't the last one posted?

As far as I know, yeah. But then I've always been an admin, so every single post has a little X next to it when I view things.

Are you finding yourself unable to delete posts after other replies show up in a thread?

From the fora FAQ:
Unless you are the board admin or forum moderator you can only edit or delete your own posts. (...) Please note that normal users cannot delete a post once someone has replied.

I've had this problem for some time now actually.

Since Gir moved to its new home there have been sporadic problems with email delivery from it. Some email services reliably get Gir's mail, others never receive them. I'm working on the problem in a kind of "some day I'll totally get that fixed, after I get that other stuff fixed" kind of way.

I hit things with a stick. Hard. A bunch. Now they're "better."

DzM, may we please have the ecru background back?

hmmm, I see the delete function is no longer available.

What is a "BBCode", and why is it OFF?

and -- how do I add my signature? sorry if this is all explained elsewhere, I figured this would be a good place to ask.
