DzM - it's good to know you're back there, pulling knobs and pushing RAM, or whatever it is you do behind that interweb curtain.
It's like when the kids are playing in another part of the house - it's reassuring to hear the occasional crash, bang and cursing. It's only when the noise stops that you start to worry...
...ain't it funny how you used to know everybody in these parts...

I have a similar problem to Philip, in my case I have sussed out that the problem isn't medusa or whatever website I'm on at the time, it's mainly my ISP. Don't know why but they keep freezing my wireless signal, which is really annoying, particularly when trying to reply to post on the forum.

Fortunately I'm using firefox now which is a lot easier and if the signal does freeze and the site times out, because you get the option to try again, and therefore you don't lose the message you've just typed in, bloody magic.

At this moment if you are unable to reach our Medusa for some reason you can be reasonably sure (~80% chance) that your laptop or Internets (or both) are a heap o' crap. :)

If it was yesterday and you got weird errors about databases, then that was me actively breaking things (there was a twenty minute period where the odds of getting this error were greater than not getting it).

Well there's some bumps over with now

Sometimes you put off chores for too long. In this case the chore was upgrading the OS that Medusa runs on, and that involved rebuilding the OS from bare-bones (this is a good thing to do from time to time - it clears out lots of cruft). Unfortunately it also means there was some down time this afternoon (US Pacific time). I think it's all over with now. Yay!

Software update

Post Mon Nov 19, 2012 7:55 pm

Note: Today the forum software along with the anti-spam systems were updated to new versions. Everything APPEARS to be working correctly in my tests but it's possible (and even probable) that I missed something. Please let me know you experience something unusual in the next day or so that USED to work. Thanks!
