Hey Jamie, I just heard from Yogi (Celtic Tiger) that you´ll be playing at the Maschseefest in Hannover this year. Looking forward to seeing you there.

I guess you don´t remember me since a fair couple of years have passed by, I used to play in a band called "The Lonesome Boatmen" in the late 90ies when we supported you at MacGowan´s Irish Pub in Hannover, and I also did the support twice for you, both at the MacGowan´s and at the Finnegan´s Wake. I´ll get in touch with you at the Maschseefest. Cheerio !

Ach...this is pretty pathetic.

I really tried to like his work. He really seems to love what he does after all. And he is very likely a nice guy. But I just cannot stand it. Jamie Clarke's Perfect is probably the most awkward and embarassing Pogues Cover band. And always and in every situation that one once was "the former guitarist of the Pogues" does not make it better. It sucks. It's deeply and utterly pathetic and parasitic.

As I said: I tried to like it. But hey....

Wow, strong words. I know absolutely zero about this guy but went onto his myspace to listen to what offends you so much. The live tracks he has up there are not as bad as i was expecting. I thought "Pray" was ok for what seem to be a "Good Time Pub Band".

Also, remember that The Pogues were a "covers" band that had one or two of their own tracks in the begining and the purists hated them.

You say........

"I really tried to like his work. He really seems to love what he does after all. And he is very likely a nice guy. But I just cannot stand it. Jamie Clarke's Perfect is probably the most awkward and embarassing Pogues Cover band."

That could be a quote from 1984 from the likes of Noel Hill, just substitute "Jamie Clarke's Perfect" for "The Pogues" and the word "Pogues" to "Trad".

Mmmmmm.......

eckhard - you are a pratt...and along with every other pratt on here who continues to diss me...and that includes you too spider...you don't have to like me or my music...i don't even care if you call me a pogues covers band..or even a cunt...but do not call me a parasite...

i have in the last years found gigs for andrews band...for terry and philip's band...for the popes...for which they all got paid...

do you call the one man band in your local pub a parasite when he plays his beatles covers...do you call the popes parasites when they play fall...or neck and DKMs when they play fields of Ath...

or indeed the pogues when they play dirty old town, honky tonk woman, maggie may, auld triangle, band played waltzing matilda, how come...and...and...and..

everytime i play a pogues song - they get money for it...everytime i have recorded one - they get money for it...its called gema or prs...

so, do not call me a parasite again...ever !

i love the pogues...i love philip, james, andrew, darryl, jem and terry, i hardly know shane - and spider and i used to be very close..i love their music...i loved my time with them, as a roadie first and guitarist later...so stop spoiling my memories of all this with your petty jealousy...

and memories are all they are these days... i have been with perfect now for 14 years..we have made 7 cds - with even some of my songs on them - we have played more than 1400 concerts worldwide...not bad for a fucking covers band, eh ? afterall...shane does write pretty good songs doesn't he ? you twats..and i was only with the pogues as a guitar player for just 3 years...not even..

speaking of which, those of you reading this that fit into the pratt description...when was the last time the pogues did anything new ?

i got a new cd out in about 4 weeks...with all my songs on it...oh shit...wait a minute..there is a pogues cover on it - the sun and the moon...fuck !

i am so saddened and tired of this abuse, i hardly ever look on here anymore...and when i do, i find such a useless comment about me and my music from someone who clearly has nothing better to do with his time...otherwise he wouldn't waste it on here...get out in the world and live man !

you don't know anything about me...any of you.

go back to doing something constructive on here...like asking for a new cd...or a german tour...

and leave me alone...

haha...i am sure you are mr.pratt...but i still don't really understand the point of your post ?
why bother...
...and calling me a parasite is just something i don't deserve.

whatever....lets all laugh about it...really i don't give a fuck...but somedays it just gets under my skin... :D  :P :)
