I really tried to like his work. He really seems to love what he does after all. And he is very likely a nice guy. But I just cannot stand it. Jamie Clarke's Perfect is probably the most awkward and embarassing Pogues Cover band.
And always and in every situation that one once was "the former guitarist of the Pogues" does not make it better. It sucks. It's deeply and utterly pathetic and parasitic.
As I said: I tried to like it. But hey....
Wow, strong words. I know absolutely zero about this guy but went onto his myspace to listen to what offends you so much. The live tracks he has up there are not as bad as i was expecting. I thought "Pray" was ok for what seem to be a "Good Time Pub Band".
Also, remember that The Pogues were a "covers" band that had one or two of their own tracks in the begining and the purists hated them.
You say........
"I really tried to like his work. He really seems to love what he does after all. And he is very likely a nice guy. But I just cannot stand it. Jamie Clarke's Perfect is probably the most awkward and embarassing Pogues Cover band."That could be a quote from 1984 from the likes of Noel Hill, just substitute "Jamie Clarke's Perfect" for "The Pogues" and the word "Pogues" to "Trad".
Mmmmmm.......
