Absoultely love this song, but did anyone of Sweeney's Men write this or is a trad?

Trad song (the ever-reliable Wikipedia offers some interesting background info). When I was a kid, it was a favourite song to sing around campfires here - with Czech lyrics recounting the murder story in a similar way as the original. Not a bad stuff for kids. ;)
