renowned

Hi,
can anybody tell me something about renowned? Is it rare? Are there more pressings made? The local record shop sells it at a ridiculous price. I told Terry last year and he just had to laugh about it..

nobody knows anything about this album?? I could recomend it to you all!
I went to discuss the pressing with the record shop I wrote about and mine is the same as the expensive one they're selling. They could not tell me however If there is an English pressing for example. The record guide does not say anything about pressing at all. (to be clear: for me it has nothing to do with value, selling or something like that..)
Just curious what people know and think of it..

There a 2 differently sourced versions on the LP in MP3 format on the FTP.
May be someone might download them a give your post a few replies .
Looks like one of the FTP versions is a Polyder England release , so
I guess thats one of your questions answered.
I have always liked track 09 - Van Dieman's Land.

It is a Gay & Terry Woods album from 1976. You weren't into Gay and Terry back then?

My copy says printed in Holland. It also says first published in the UK so you're probably right RoddyRuddy.

I normaly do not like female singing (sorry, I can't help it) but for some reason I like this one. I ebayed a couple of other albums by Terry and I really like them.

The husband-and-wife duo of Gay and Terry Woods got their beginning in 1969, when Terry Woods was still a member of Sweeney's Men. At that point, negotiations were underway for Sweeney's Men plus Gay Woods to join Fairport Convention bassist Ashley Hutchings in a new band, to be called Steeleye Span. At that point, Gay joined prog band Auto Da Fe and Terry Woods briefly revived the Woods Band before abandoning music for a few years. He resurfaced in 1986 as a member of the Pogues, whose music was a direct descendent of his work with Sweeney's Men. Though Gay Woods, too, retired from music, she did emerge into the spotlight again in the late '90s, rejoining Steeleye Span and becoming their sole vocalist after the departure of Maddy Prior. ~ All Music Guide........."

The copyright ownership indicates it to be part of the deal witn Sandy Robertson which began, I think, with the first Woods Band album, though I couldn't say whether or not it extended into the Mulligan Years. In any event, and this notwithstanding, I have always tended to think of The Woods Band as a different thing to Gay and Terry.
