New studio album - 'a picture'
Release date - 26th April 2007
Producer - Terry Woods
Quote".....He has supported many national and international artists including Mary Black, Jack L and most recently the legendary Mary Coughlan. It was following appearances on national television and the release of an EP that he attracted the attention of Mr Terry Woods of Sweeny's Men and the Pogues. The timing was right and the chemistry between Terry and David resulted in the production by Terry of David's first studio album entitled 'a picture'. ........."

"........David is joined on the album by a number of extremely talented musicians including Terry Woods on mandolin and 5 string banjo, Paul Harrigan on accordion and fiddle, Olly 'the kid' Betts (from band The Duke of Spirit) on drums. David is joined on some vocals by a young singer/songwriter Louise McMahon. Mary Coughlan joins him on backing vocals on track 10.

The production is as close to a live/acoustic sound as you can get. Terry Woods has captured a refreshing organic roots sound that reflects the heart of David's music and lyrics. The empathy between producer and writer has resulted in an acoustic studio album that will withstand the test of time.........."end quote

Got this cd in todays post.On first listen it sounds very folk rootsy almost C&W , a lot like Bap Kennedy .The last track "On That Train "is very up beat could almost be a Popes song .On the whole a very pleasant listen .The above comments about the production are spot on .
