Hi Phil!
Pleasure to post to you! 1st time poster too!
I have seen you in Glasgow around Christmas these last 4 or 5 years on the trot and have LOVED the gigs!!!
I fly down each year from the Shetland Islands. This year I'm waiting to book flights once your date is announced.
But I have also seen that the great Steve Earle is playing the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on December 6th and would love to go to his gig too!! Any chance I will be able to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, so to speak??
I don't suppose you can give me an idea if you will be playing around that time or not?
Hope your keeping well!
My best wishes to you and the band!!!!! :)

Well, that depends on whether or not you want to hang around Glasgow for another 4 or 5 days after Steve plays. Personally, I can think of few things more appealing.

Pleasure to be able to write to you. Been to Brixton for the show for the last two years on the 19th, absolutely amazing. Any chance you will be there on the same night/weekend this year? Many thanks!

Leeds is on our map around mid-December. Check back in a few weeks.

Brilliant ,can't wait.I now need to find someone to come with me who will enjoy the gig.Took my oldest daughter last year and she didn't like it.As I'm virtually blind I will have to pay for an extra ticket so someone can help me,and I would prefer it if they actually had a good time too

It's worth checking the venue's policy, Asthoreen. In those circumstances, some venues will let you bring a companion/assistant for free. "Carer tickets", they sometimes call them.

Hi Phil,

Absolute pleasure to post to you as well. With all the speculation about the dates just wanted to check that you've got my wedding booked in for 23rd December 2009 at Hull!!!!! All the other posters will now realise why the tour is starting earlier so you've got the space to fit playing in the 200 people venue and that the whole 'James wants to get back to LA for Xmas' line is just a cover story!!

Pogues as your wedding band just before Xmas - can you imagine. FONY or A Rainy Night in Soho as a 1st dance. Pure heaven.

Any idea when these dates are going to be formally announced? It's normally round about his time of year isn't it?

Hi Phil!
Looks like Steve Earle is heading to Shetland too!? http://www.shetland-news.co.uk/2009/Jul ... eturns.htm

I truly hope his Shetland concert doesn't clash with you guy's in Glasgow. Have you ever thought about playing in Shetland? You would sell the place out in minutes!!! :)

How did you get on with Steve when you recorded/played together? There must be some good memories and crazy stories of those times?

I'd like to see a barras show too, altough I prefer the layout of the academy the sound is usually pretty bad if you're anywhere other than the first few standing rows. I prefer the pubs near the barras too

agree with the above....the Barras is still THE place to see a band in Glasgow. The last 6 or 7 times I've seen the Pogues has been in the Academy. Go on Philip, get yerselves along to the Gallowgate!
