glad to hear its still open, i have loved the gigs i've been to there over the years.

This is the article i was talking about BTW; Its from May last year so fingers crossed the plans have been shelved.

Its a toss up between Brum and Brixton for me, from the gigs i've been to anyway; Is the Brum academy still open tho? I read somewhere it was shutting this year and moving to some ex nightclub type place.

Still open mate its the o2 academy now and yes i would agree Brixton and Brum are the two gigs from a punters point of view anyway and i know Mr c doesn't like to comment, it 'd be interesting to know if the band feel the energy more or less at certain gigs, Brum was mental last year

Have to agree with you on that Rum, it was kicking, it was also brill when i saw the Specials there last month, a great venue.

I was gutted - couldn't get tickets for the specials and was no way i was gonna pay treble price on e bay, something needs doing about the whole gig ticketing set up .
It stinks from top to bottom. You pay a booking fee for each ticket - whats that all about ?
Thats if you can get them and some tosser tout guy has not bought them all up- as was the case with the Specials.
I did manage to get tickets for the Coventry gig next week though , that should be a bit SPECIAL- excuse the pun, you going mate ?"

Nice to hear.....

X-mas shopping on the other side of the pond :D

after 5 shows in Brixton it´s prob. time to see the Pogues in Glasgow and Dublin again.

Philip is there any chanse that Glasgow will be right after Dublin? (so i don´t have to go home to Sweden between the shows)

When do you think the X-mas shows will be confirmed (officialy)?

Cheers

Glasgow is likely to be between 3 and 7 days after Dublin.

Hi Rum, yeah I will be there, the venue is no where as intimate as the Academy, its a bit of a barn and holds 7 or 8000.
Don't know what your travel arrangements are but it is a nightmare to park around the Stadium, permit system in place on all the streets. (There is a huge tescos next to it which you can take a gamble on, it is free parking if you spend over £25 in any or all of the shops)however i have never seen anyone check as you leave the carpark so it is a gamble...
If you come by train a taxi will cost approx £10 (this is pure speculation because i have never gone by taxi) but once at the stadium there are few places to drink. The Casino is ok but pricey and thats if you can get in, the bars within the venue will be usual shit beer costing £3.50 or so a pint. There is a social club opposite "rowley green club" and i have heard that there is to be a Ska disco at a club called the "Cherrytree" about a 15min walk away.
I have no idea where i will be but if i see you i will say hello

Sheffield, Leeds or Newcastle would be my guess.
