Um, maybe, maybe not. Gave nothing away there, did I? :)

I will say, though, that Liverpool is July 15 and only July 15.

Cheers for that! I've got everything crossed that i dont enter the M E N this year for anything, aside from getting a train from Victoria Station under it of course!

Speaking of crap venues earlier...does anyone think that the glasgow carling or O2 whatever it is called now is shit ?
Compared to the barrowlands there is no doubt where i would like too see the pogues.

Would there be any possability that The Pogues would consider playing outside Dublin/Belfast?

Its a toss up between Brum and Brixton for me, from the gigs i've been to anyway; Is the Brum academy still open tho? I read somewhere it was shutting this year and moving to some ex nightclub type place.

Still open mate its the o2 academy now and yes i would agree Brixton and Brum are the two gigs from a punters point of view anyway and i know Mr c doesn't like to comment, it 'd be interesting to know if the band feel the energy more or less at certain gigs, Brum was mental last year

Hi Philip+Fr. McGreer,

First of all I'm glad that both the rds and point are possibly being ruled out. The new o2 is too much of a seated venue for the pogues experience in my opinion. However I am baffled to what other venue in Dublin could facilitate the pogues. The likes of the olympia and vicar st are too small. Shane used to sell-out 2 nights in a row in the olympia. Don't get me wrong. Its the best venue in the city but its not big enough. As regards seated venues, I am actually in Australia at the moment and when the Liverpool gig was announced I decided to treat myself to a coming home present of a pogues gig. So I will comment on the peculiar situation of a seated gig afterwards. I'm starting to worry that I arrange my life around the pogues touring calender more than the pogues themselves. We all have our vices I suppose!!!
As for the kings hall, thats actually a disappointment to me that ye are pulling that venue. I was at the belfast gigs the last 2 years and I think they were probably the best on the tour. Thats taking into account that i was at 6 of the shows on the last xmas tour including brixton which is a hard act to follow.
But on the whole dublin issue I think you are delenitly talking about a 6000 capacity plus venue. It is also a welcome change with the dates. I have been going to pogues/shane since mid 90's as a young teen with parents. However when I started going on my own since 2004 friends are always saying that they will go to the next pogues x mas gig in dublin with me but when the 23rd of december on a wednesday night is announced they just say its too close to crimbo. I am really baffled about venue though. Any hints Phil!!!
Cheers
