Sorry Nigs - I needed to take over your post.

Nigs, originally wrote:Phil,

Will you be doing the V festival in 2009, saw you last year in the JJB tent at Chelmsford, the nuts, as usual. Hopefully you are and they will put you on one of the main stages. Going to Brixton on 19th, thanks to Christine on here for selling me a ticket. Can't wait.

I'm afraid the European Festival scene is a little too far away for me to answer this with any authority. The only Festival I have in my diary right now is Saturday March 7 at Miami, Florida (Langerado Festival). We are apparently booked second to last on the main stage.

The Pogues @ Festivals in 2009?

Dear Mr. Chevron,

Will the Pogues be playing some festivals this summer? And if so, will that be also festivals outside the UK?
The Pinkpop festival in The Netherlands is celebrating their 40th anniversary and they are creating an impressive line-up (for instance Bruce Springsteen will appear).
Madness is also confirmed for this festival. Any chance the Pogues will appear on the Pinkpop Festival?

Kind Regards,
Rob (The Netherlands)

Nothing in the diary so far, Rob.

Just seen the line up for the V Festival this year, obviously not all, so hopefully we'll see you boys added in the near future. C'mon lads make this year's festival the nuts again.

Fantastic choice of show to play. A proper old school festival , not like the corporate hell that is V. Hurrah!

Hawkwind?? Gong????

All this and Kris Drevers too.

Now that's what I call a festival. See you at the joss-stick stall.

Now I was trying to convince Mme firehzard that Gong were still playing just a few days ago. She saw them, apparently, back in 1970-something. I don't think she has truly recovered since.

Lovely Kris Drever in various forms too, by the look...

...and, dammit, on those dates we are due to be about as far on the opposite side of the country as it is possible to be. Bad planning that was on our part.

Words and/or bands mentioned here than have no meaning to me:

Hawkwind (I can only assume this involves burritos)
Gong (isn't this a large instrument that makes a loud crashing noise?)
Kris Drevers
joss-stick

It's rare that I get to say "Huh. Guess I'm too young to have ever heard of any of these."

DzM, you are not too young to have heard of Kris Drever. Bright young folkie thing he is. So too old, possibly. Though then again, I know of him. So on that basis, few people are too old...
