Has it really been 21 years? See you in June.

Thank you Phil, from the bottom of my heart. Almost 200 deaths, hundreds of injured and thousands of people displaced. Meny villages have also been totally destroyed. It is a dramatic situation. Life's a bitch, sometimes... but like Pete Seeger said: "we shall overcome".

See you in June.

If there is no really good reason to not count 1989, 1990 and 1991 then yes, you are wrong...

'89, '90 and '91?

Just checked: you're right, and I'm (as usually) wrong. Well, still 18 years since the last gig. However, I'll obviously be there on June 13th.

Dear mr. Chevron,

Are the 4 confirmed festival dates the only dates you will play this summer? Or will there more shows be confirmed in the near future?
I still hope for a date in Holland, Belgium or Germany. The Pinkpop Classic festival in Holland has one spot left, that should be great. Simple minds,
Sinead O'Connor (ideal for a nice performance of Fairytale) and Living Colour are already confirmed.

I keep on hoping.....

Kind regards,

Rob

So...

Post Mon Apr 20, 2009 1:57 pm

With the tiny, but vocal and brick shit house, mad drunken Republican contingent of the Pogues' audience and the likewise tiny but vocal drunken cockney bastard Union Jack waving NF section of Madness', has no one else seen the smallest chances of unrest?

The wrong chant, song or thrown bottle at the wrong time could surely cause a couple of brawls. And don't give me people aging and calming down since the eighties. These are the only two subsections of mankind that become scarier and more up for a fight as middle age comes.

Bring it on now. I'll be dressed entirely neutrally as an American circa 1955.

Ageing and calming down, pah. Always been up for it against the reactionary forces of fascism and xenophobia and oppression, whoever they may be. So just wait a minute till I do me boots up, and get me jacket on, and find me scarf (where the hell's it gone?). Oh, and no, I wouldn't mind a cup of tea. And ooh, is that a biscuit? What were we talking about?

Great to see the POGUES playing more dates in the UK,maybe the loyal fans in mainland Europe may get a chance to see them too,why are there no shows in FRANCE,HOLLAND, GERMANY ,SWEDEN.?These were the main hard core POGUES fans that were around long before those gloryhunting Americans, a wee gripe i know, but a valid one methinks.

At last festivals that are manageable, travelwise The Beautiful Days could be awkward as most hotels are usually fully booked.I miss going to those festivals in Europe, happy days!
